Our Camps

Unit 16

Accessible by vehicle base camp sits nestled high on a panoramic ridge at 5800 ft elevation overlooking the Selway Bitteroots.  Here we provide a 16x32 cook tent where everyone gets together for hearty home cooked meals and conversation.  Your morning will start with a great breakfast and a sack lunch being prepared by our staff for you to pack into the field.  Upon your return after the days hunt, sit back, relax and enjoy a piping hot dinner.

Sleeping quarters will be 14x16 wall tents, with wood stoves, comfortable cots wit hfoam sleeping pads and indoor outdoor carpet.

We provide a shower trailer where hot showers can be enjoyed after a long days hunt.  A forest service restroom is also available for your conviance.

Base camp will be the center point from where all the hunting will take place.  The hunter and guide will return to camp every evening by horseback, walking or vehicle.

Unit 16A

Base camp in this unit sits in a beautiful meadow surrounded with fir and pine trees where you may hear elk bugling throughout the night.  This base camp is approximately 3 miles from a main forest service road and is accessible by either horseback or ATV.  The camp is set up with all the comforts as unit 16 base camp wit ha 16x32 cook tent, 14x16 wall tents for sleeping, hot showers and restroom facilities.

Spike Camps

In conjunction to Base Camp, guided hunts can take place from our spike camps.  Generally 3 to 7 miles from base, these comfortable camps have all the necessities for a cozy stay.  You and your guide will enjoy all the comforts in a 12x14 wall tent.  Wood stove, cots, foam pads, indoor/outdoor carpet and plenty of food are all provided.  The guide will do all the cooking and camp chores.  You will be in communication with base camp at any given time by radio.  For the hunter who doesn't necessarily need all the luxuries of a base camp, this is a great way to hunt.

Drop Camps

We will furnish your back country drop camp with a 12x14 wall tent, wood stove, cut wood, cook stove, cooking utensils, cots, sleeping pads, indoor/outdoor carpet, lanterns and stock it with plenty of food to make for a comfortable, cozy camp.  We will take you and your gear to your new "home away from home" and supply you wit hmaps and discuss the hunting area with you.  You will be in communication with base camp daily by radio, and our guide will drop by your camp every few days to check on you.  If you harvest and animal, it will be your responsibility to field dress and prepare it for the packer, who will pack it out and transport it to a local meat processor.  For those who have knowledge of hunting, this is a very practical way to go as it is about 1/2 the price of a guided hunt.
